ICAI Debars Candidates for 5 Years - Exam Paper Leak

These candidates will be barred from appearing in the CA exams for the next five years. During the May exams, however, some candidates were caught with mobile phones containing communication channels like Telegram groups or WhatsApp groups.

This action comes amidst controversy surrounding alleged leaks of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) from the Financial Reporting (FR) exam of the May 2024 CA Final Exams. Social media, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter), has been abuzz with discussions about a message on a Telegram account claiming to have leaked the FR exam paper as MCQs in PDF format just hours before the scheduled exam end.

This has sparked outrage among students and the accounting community, prompting calls for a thorough investigation. By taking a firm stance against mobile phone use in the exam hall, ICAI aims to uphold the integrity of the CA examination process and ensure a fair playing field for all candidates.
